Foundations to Freedom Awarded State Funding for Young Adult Recovery Housing

Foundations to Freedom is proud to announce that we have been selected as one of only four organizations statewide to receive funding through the Florida Department of Children and Families’ Recovery Housing Initiative for Young Adults (DCF RFA 2526-060). This grant supports our Foundations to Recovery program, which provides safe, structured, Level III FARR-certified recovery housing and comprehensive wraparound services for transitional age youth (TAY) aged 18-24 who are struggling with substance use disorders in Volusia County and Flagler County.

Program Overview:

• Target: Transitional age youth with substance use disorders who are between the ages of 18 and 24
• Model: Trauma-informed, evidence-based, peer-supported recovery and wraparound services
• Capacity: Dedicated recovery housing for up to 42 young adults over the next 12 months

Core Services:

• Safe, substance-free Level III FARR-certified housing for TAY with 24/7 staff support
• Individualized wraparound care plans using a System of Care approach
• Case management and peer mentoring (Certified Recovery Peer Specialists)
• Employment and education readiness (placement within 90 days)
• High school diploma (CORE Prep), career assistance, and employment assistance
• Life skills development, financial literacy, and independent living preparation
• Coordination with behavioral health providers and community partners
• Family reunification support (parents with children)
• Full-time transportation to meetings, appointments, and opportunities 

Community Impact:

This program directly addresses a critical gap in our community. By providing stable housing paired with intensive support, we aim to achieve strong outcomes including engagement in treatment and recovery services, employment or educational enrollment within 90 days, and improved long-term sobriety and successful transitioning to independent living.
